Disclaimer: The Federal Reserve System (“FRS”) is providing the data contained within this document (the “data”), “as is” and the FRS expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will the FRS be liable to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages or lost profit related to your use of the data. Each institution's management remains solely responsible for selecting and implementing an appropriate method to calculate the Allowances for Credit Losses given the unique facts and circumstances of their institution, including selecting appropriate external data sources.

Schedule RI-C Data Information

The data included in this document is derived from publicly available Schedule RI-C filings (available at https://cdr.ffiec.gov/public/PWS/DownloadBulkData.aspx) from all filers with assets between $1 and $10 billion as of the financial statement date.  The raw data included in the CSV and Excel versions of this document includes total assets as of quarter end, as well as total loan balances and ACL balances for each individual loan segment on Schedule RI-C.  The Excel version of this document will also include the aggregated data and simple calculations for the nationwide expected loss rates for all institutions between $1 and $10 billion for each loan segment and the aggregate loan portfolio.  Data will be downloaded 45 days after the calendar quarter end to align with the FFIEC finalization of financial information contained in the Call Reports.  The Excel version will include the date the data is pulled for reference.  The supervision outreach website will include the date the data is pulled for both the CSV and Excel versions.

To address data discrepancies, or if unforeseen circumstances cause a bank to not file their Call Report information 30 days after the calendar quarter end, the FRS will note any incomplete data in the Excel file and on the supervision outreach website.  In addition, the FRS will complete a data pull 75 days after the calendar quarter end and provide an updated file on the supervision outreach website.  If any data discrepancies, unforeseen circumstances, or data revisions occur, the nature of the discrepancy or circumstance will be included in the notes section on this tab to ensure that institution management is aware of the change and can take any additional action they deem appropriate.

To address any data revisions by financial institutions, the FRS will also complete a data pull and complete the calculations for the previous two quarters to ensure no material changes to the expected loss rates are identified.  If Schedule RI-C filers have restated their Call Reports and the nationwide expected loss rates for an individual loan segment or the aggregate portfolio changes more than 5% from the original numbers, a new Excel spreadsheet will be created, verified, and posted to the website with the new as of date.  On the background tab of the spreadsheet, the notes section will include information on the reason for republishing the data pull, so that bank management can take any corrective actions they deem necessary.  In addition, a CSV file will be created and posted to the website with the new as of date.
